Crucial to the installation of any lightning protection system, lightning conductor testing should also be carried out on existing systems by skilled personnel on a regular basis, using calibrated test equipment, to ensure safety and to comply with the relevant legislation.

All requirements related to lightning protection testing are set out in the BSEN:62305 standard. Because this standard was recently updated, you may need us to assess the functionality and safety of your systems if you haven’t done so for a number of years. The standard also states that testing should be annually after the implementation of a system.

During the inspection, we’ll check:

- Corrosion of earth electrodes
- Corrosion and deterioration of conductors, connections and air-termination elements
- Condition of fixings, equipotential bonding and connections
- Earthing resistance value of your earth-termination system
